DISCOVERY EDITION

Who are we? Is there something innate to our selves, or are we formed by our journeys through this strange world? Can we truly be a blank slate, or will we abide by the reminders of what we're supposed to be?

These are the questions that your characters will face as you delve into this deeply collaborative tabletop role-playing game. When you first create your Tabula Rasa, they are more a sketch than a fully-fleshed out being. But, they will learn Reminders of another existence, hidden just past the veil in their mind. Each Tabula Rasa will be challenged to either Accept these Reminders as part of their self-identity, or Reject them in order to create a sense of self based on their new experiences. And these Reminders will be initially hidden from not just the characters, but their player too. Each player will have an opportunity to write sets of Reminders that will be revealed to another Tabula Rasa at a narratively relevant moment.

Tabula Rasa is the first game to use the Blank Slate System.  In this system, you take the highest number rolled from your skills (d6) pool and subtract the highest hazards (d4) number rolled from it, then compare the result with the Resolution Outcomes table. But your character can also influence by spending Reminder Points to remove dice from the hazards pool!

Tabula Rasa: Discovery Edition comes with three setting options, Wilds & Wonders, Power Down, and Guided Path (see screenshot for descriptions), which provide a narrative framework and unique game details. Alternatively, your group can use these setting guide's framework to create your own setting!
